Community Trailblazer Jason Sonker knows a thing or two about raising funds for a great cause.

Jason and his wife Jenn started an annual walk-a-thon raising money for animal rescues like Whatcom Humane Society and Old Dog Haven after losing their beloved rescue dog, Shadow, in 2011. In 2020, they created Shadow’s Forever Friends, a non-profit dedicated to helping animals in need, especially senior dogs.

In addition to being a dog lover, Jason is a beer & cider connoisseur, and works as a Project Controls Manager for Powertek, a local electrical construction and land surveying company. It’s clear to see that he’s an all-around great human doing much needed work for our community!
